State Bills Could Keep ICE out of ‘Sensitive’ Spaces

With demolition of the mall nearly complete, a Chicago-based developer is eyeing the West Mifflin property. Potential concepts include a mix of housing, retail, restaurants, and offices. Local leaders hope the long-blighted space can become an economic asset for the community. [Public Source]

US Steel To Begin Contract Negotiations

Wiz Will No Longer Open The Wylie
Pittsburgh native and rapper Wiz Khalifa won’t be the first performance at the new Lower Hill District venue. Singer-songwriter Tucker Pillsbury, aka Role Model, will play the first show there on Oct. 1. Khalifa is slated to perform Oct. 2; tickets haven’t gone on sale yet. [TribLive]
