Today on the podcast, James Fogarty, executive director of A+ Schools, shares the shameful history that helped create a crisis, plus how Pittsburgh can step up and help right now. City Council Considers Tax on Skill Games
As Pittsburgh looks for new revenue sources to address its budget deficit, Councilor Anthony Coghill proposed a new tax on skill games and other "mechanical amusements," such as claw machines and jukeboxes. The bill would require businesses to pay a license fee, and Coghill estimates it could bring in $2 to $3 million annually.
