Carnegie Museums Plan Big Projects
Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh launched a $500 million fundraising campaign to support renovations, new programming, and long-term investments across all four of its museums. Paid Parental Leave in Allegheny County?
The local health department wants to amend its sick leave policy to include mandatory, paid parental leave for employees across the county. Under the proposal, employers would be required to provide 18 weeks of leave within the first year after birth, adoption, or permanent legal placement. The county is opening a public comment period, and the board of health could make changes to the policy before sending it to council for a final vote.
