What's CITY Talking About

County Considers Regular Property Reassessments
Three Allegheny County Council members are calling for a full reassessment of property values in 2028, followed by recurring reassessments every three years. The county hasn't done a property reassessment in more than a decade, and PA is the only state in the U.S. that doesn’t require regular reviews. A council committee is set to review the bill.

DA Serves Search Warrant on City of Pittsburgh
Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala served a search warrant on the City of Pittsburgh this week. Mayor Corey O’Connor said the DA's office is seeking information on city contracts and that he has “nothing to hide.” The warrant is sealed for 60 days. Zappala previously investigated the city in 2024 for alleged misuse of a city credit card. [TribLive]
A Better Plan for Clearing Snow?
The city is creating an inventory of areas that need to get cleared after snow storms — like curb cuts, transit stops, and accessible parking spaces — as a "first step" toward figuring out which areas to prioritize. It's supposed to be completed by Nov. 15, ahead of next winter. [TribLive]
The Clarks Announce 40th Anniversary Concert
The iconic Pittsburgh band is celebrating the milestone with a concert at Stage AE on June 13. Fun fact: Their song "Better Off Without You" played during the opening scene in this season of "The Pitt," as Dr. Robby rode his motorcycle across the Rachel Carson Bridge. [WPXI / City Cast Pittsburgh]
