Judge Ends DOJ Effort To Get Trans Care Data

A federal judge in Pittsburgh denied the U.S. Department of Justice’s request for UPMC’s records on minor patients who received gender-affirming care. Chief U.S. District Judge Cathy Bissoon said that it would be impossible to provide truly anonymous records, and the government’s “rhetoric regarding gender-affirming care reflects callous indifference, if not abject cruelty.” [TribLive]

Police Investigate Threat Against O’Connor

Pittsburgh’s police scanner was interrupted Monday by Nazi songs praising Hitler, white nationalist propaganda, and a death threat against Mayor Corey O’Connor. Allegheny County Emergency Services says an unknown user gained access to the analog system. [KDKA]

County Advances Bill To Ban ICE Cooperation

Allegheny County Council’s committee on public safety approved a bill that would limit elected officials and county employees’ interactions with federal immigration agents unless ordered by a federal judge. Pittsburghers Protest War in Iran

Dozens gathered outside the City-County Building on Monday to protest military actions by the U.S. and Israel in Iran. Taylor Goel, Pittsburgh coordinator of ANSWER, said this is “another illegitimate genocidal war … It’s being done in our name. With our tax dollars. With our hard-earned money.” [TribLive]
