What's CITY Talking About

Downtown To Get More Affordable Housing
Two former commercial and manufacturing spaces on Liberty Avenue are being transformed into 50 units of affordable housing. The $37 million development, just a block away from the new Arts Landing project, is one of the first Downtown projects to get a direct investment from Allegheny County. Film Projects Spend Millions in Pittsburgh
Movie and television productions spent a record-breaking $300 million on local products and services while filming in the region last year, according to the Pittsburgh Film Office. The Pittsburgh area was the backdrop for 50 feature films, eight television shows, five commercials, and 19 other projects. [NEXTpittsburgh]

Pitt Cuts Seats at Football Games
Starting this fall, the University of Pittsburgh is decreasing crowd capacity at Panther games from 68,400 to 51,416 in order to create a “more intimate environment.” Fans will no longer be able to buy seats in the 500s section. The announcement coincided with the launch of season ticket sales. [TribLive / Pitt]
Pittsburgh LEGO Set Gains Support
Would you love to build a Pittsburgh LEGO set? You can help bring one to life through this petition. The set design is complete with our Downtown skyline, iconic gold bridges, Point State Park fountain, and inclines climbing Mt. Washington. If the design gets 10,000 supporters, it will be a contender to be brought to market! [LEGO]
