Pittsburgh May Scale Back Its 2050 Plan

City Council advanced legislation that could end contracts with outside consultants who are working on a $6 million comprehensive plan — a blueprint for how Pittsburgh should grow and improve over the next 25 years. Some members think the city can finish the work in-house and use the money elsewhere, but Mayor Ed Gainey says council doesn’t have the power to cancel contracts that were already approved. [WESA]
