There’s only one place in the Burgh where you can order a stellar latte and score cool vintage threads: Heat Check in Shadyside. It feels like a hidden gem because the storefront isn’t on the first floor. Enter on Walnut Street, head up the stairs, and step into a thrift-lover's dream.

The Boredom Set serves espresso, lattes, and other speciality drinks at the barista counter. They make one of my favorite lattes in the city, and I’m always super impressed by their inventive flavors. (Check out seasonal syrups like toasted marshmallow and persimmon.)

It’s the perfect cozy beverage to sip while you search racks of vintage tees, denim, flannel, and jackets. Plus, they have a gift section with art, candles, pottery, and more.

If you see the barista (his name is Q), tell him Francesca from City Cast Pittsburgh sent yinz. ➡️ After your visit, check out more of Pittsburgh’s best thrift shops for clothes.
