Pittsburgh Split on Inclusionary Zoning

City Council voted 5-4 to amend Mayor Ed Gainey's inclusionary zoning bill, which has been the center of his affordable housing push for over a year. Gainey’s original policy was citywide and required new housing developments over a certain size to include affordable units; the amended version makes the program voluntary with several incentives for would-be developers. ‘No Kings’ Protest Returns To Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh will join cities across the U.S. to protest the Trump administration’s ICE raids and National Guard deployments in “No Kings” protests tomorrow. Pennie Health Insurance Costs Going Up

PA residents who buy health insurance through the Affordable Care Act marketplace will see premiums increase by nearly 22% on average in 2026. The rise in cost is partially because Congress hasn’t extended tax credits that make monthly premiums more affordable. [WHYY]
