Plans To Improve Pittsburgh’s Riverfront

Riverlife entered the public fundraising phase for its 10-year plan to “complete the loop” of parks and trails along the Allegheny, Monongahela, and Ohio rivers. RiverLife raised about $25.2 million so far; the multi-year project is expected to cost nearly $250 million. [Union Progress]

Gov. Shapiro Announces State Vaccine Program

In response to new vaccine restrictions from the federal government, Gov. Josh Shapiro signed an executive order to create state vaccine information hubs and safety net programs like free vaccines for uninsured kids. The order also requires state-regulated insurance plans to cover F.D.A. approved vaccines. [WHYY]

Meijer Grocery To Expand in Western PA

Michigan-based grocer Meijer, known for its supercenters similar to Walmart, is eyeing a new location in Cranberry Township. Wegmans also plans to open a Cranberry location in 2027. [Cranberry Eagle]
