Shell Wants To Sell Beaver County Plastics Plant
In 2012, Shell received a record-breaking $1.65 billion dollar tax credit from PA to build the plant and promised it would revitalize the local economy. PRT Could Use Reserves to Avoid Cuts
Gov. Josh Shapiro will allow Philly’s public transit agency to use hundreds of millions of dollars in capital funds to restore bus, trolley, and rail services it cut because of a budget deficit. Pittsburgh Regional Transit is considering a similar move before it’s forced to make major cuts. [Associated Press / Union Progress]

UPMC Workers Rally for Trans Health Care
Health providers and community groups staged a die-in on Monday to protest UPMC’s cuts to care for trans youth. UPMC ended gender-affirming care for patients under 19 in June after the Trump administration threatened to withhold funding from hospitals providing it. [WESA / 🎧 City Cast Pittsburgh]
Large Fire Guts Squirrel Hill Building
Firefighters spent most of the day trying to contain a massive, four-alarm blaze at a nearly 100-year-old, three-story apartment building on Forward Avenue yesterday. Officials say it's "an absolute loss." [KDKA]
