What's CITY Talking About?
🤧 Pgh Could Get More Paid Sick Leave
City Council is expected to vote on a bill tomorrow that would increase the minimum number of paid sick days for Pittsburgh workers. If the bill passes, workers at larger companies could earn nine days instead of the current five; those at smaller companies could earn six days instead of three.

💼 Local Leaders Take on Federal Cuts
City and county officials are creating a new task force that’ll look into the impacts of federal cuts ordered by the Trump administration and work to find resources for the people affected. The move came after the U.S. Labor Department announced plans to eliminate Job Corps, which provides free residential career training to low-income people aged 16-24. [PublicSource]

💸 City’s Land Bank Could Go Broke
City Council is trying to find long-term funding for the Pittsburgh Land Bank — a local agency that restores and resells vacant and abandoned properties. The land bank has been relying on federal COVID funds and is expected to run out of money next year. [TribLive]
- 🏡 The land bank was formed in 2014 but took years to get off the ground. Learn about how it works. [🎧 City Cast Pittsburgh]
