⛪ Catholic Diocese Welcomes 13th Bishop

Local Auxiliary Bishop Mark Eckman is taking over for retiring Pittsburgh Bishop David Zubik and will be officially installed July 14. Zubik, who took over in 2007, oversaw sweeping reconfigurations of local parishes and schools. During his tenure, the Diocese also paid out nearly $19.2 million to sexual abuse survivors. 📄 Not on Our Dime Responds to Lawsuit

The Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh is seeking over $80,000 in legal fees. Not on Our Dime, which tried to get a question on the May primary ballot asking voters if the city should divest from companies with ties to Israel, calls the lawsuit an effort to “stifle democracy.”

😡 Steelers Reply to Angry Fans

Team officials wrote to fans, “Our alumni and current players make their own individual decisions that reflect their views, and they do not necessarily represent the view of the entire Pittsburgh Steelers organization.” Hall-of-Fame running back Rocky Bleier presented President Trump with a #47 jersey at a U.S. Steel rally last week. Backup quarterback Mason Rudolph and safety Miles Killebrew also appeared on stage. [TribLive]
