💰 Trump To Tout US Steel, Nippon Partnership

President Donald Trump is expected to hold a rally at U.S. Steel’s Irvin Works in West Mifflin today to laud a "planned partnership" between U.S. Steel and Japan-based Nippon Steel, which reportedly includes a nearly $14 billion investment into the Pittsburgh-based steel company. Details of the arrangement are still unclear, and Nippon hasn't said whether it's agreed to any final terms.

  • 🇺🇸 According to Trump and U.S. Sen. Dave McCormick, U.S. Steel will still have an American CEO, and the U.S. government will get veto power over certain decisions.
  • ➡️ Gov. Josh Shapiro and Lt. Gov. Austin Davis both say their priority is to keep and grow union jobs in Western PA. [🎧 City Cast Pittsburgh / Associated Press]

You're Invited to PGH’s Legendary Garden Party

Mattress Factory’s legendary costume-themed fundraiser, Garden Party, is back on Friday, June 6! For the 26th year of the city’s most iconic summer bash, the theme is PINK!

The museum will transform into an immersive world of dancing, dining, drinking, and dreaming in pink.

🌱 If you’re looking for me, I’ll be in the garden! I’m trying to grow lots of native plants this year. Want to do the same? Check out Audubon’s plant nursery in Fox Chapel or Grow Pittsburgh’s seedling sale at The Frick, East End Food Co-Op, or Garden Dreams.
