🌿 Will PA Legalize Recreational Cannabis?
Two PA lawmakers, including Pittsburgh's Emily Kinkead, released a bipartisan plan to legalize recreational cannabis. They want to establish an independent commission to regulate both recreational and medical cannabis — and say legalization could create more than 30,000 jobs and a new revenue stream to invest in education, healthcare, and infrastructure.

🍎 Federal Cuts Could Affect Food at Pgh Schools
The USDA recently announced it would cancel $10 million in Farm to School grants awarded to states and school districts — funding that has previously provided Pittsburgh Public Schools with $200,000 for fresh salad bars, school gardens, and nutritional education.

🚍 University Bus Line To Open in June
Pittsburgh Regional Transit will start using the exclusive bus lanes between Oakland and Downtown on June 22. The goal is to prevent buses from bunching up during rush hour traffic. PRT eventually wants to extend the rapid transit system to Squirrel Hill and Greenfield. [Union Progress]

Allegheny County is Hiring Poll Workers
Allegheny County is looking for poll workers to work the election this May. Apply online at alleghenyvotes.com, attend either an in-person or virtual training, and work the polls on May 20. Poll workers earn $150-$175 for the day plus paid training. Poll workers must be registered to vote in Allegheny County.
