🌳 City Breaks Ground on Allegheny Riverfront Park

Construction is set to begin on the upper promenade of the Allegheny Riverfront Park — a $5.4 million rehabilitation effort by Riverlife, the city, and the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. The project is part of the “Sister Bridges Experience,” a series of improvements designed to connect both sides of the river.

📌 PPS Postpones School Closure Vote

Pittsburgh Public Schools delayed a vote that would have, if approved, opened a public comment period for the district’s school closure plan. The postponement follows concern from parents and board members, who say there isn't enough data on the consequences of permanently shuttering 10 buildings. PPS superintendent Wayne Walters says the district will release an updated feasibility report with more information. [🎧 City Cast Pittsburgh / 90.5 WESA]
