🚋 Downtown T is Back on Track

Good news if you ride the T Downtown! Pittsburgh Regional Transit wrapped up its project replacing the concrete beams that hold up train tracks, and the light rail resumed its normal route. [KDKA]

  • 🚧 One project done, another in progress: The Mount Washington Transit Tunnel is closed for renovations, and South Hills riders are facing eight months of T disruptions. [PRT]

📚 Pitt Resumes PhD Admissions

The University temporarily stopped accepting new PhD students last Friday because of federal funding concerns — but says the pause is over and it’s getting ready to send admissions offers. [WTAE]

🦌 City Hires Sharpshooters for Deer Management

Archers killed 199 deer over the past year as part of Pittsburgh’s deer culling program; 92 were donated to local food banks. But the city says archery isn’t enough to control the deer population, so they’ve hired sharpshooters to hunt overnight in Frick and Riverview parks through the end of March. [City of Pittsburgh]
