🏭 Mon Valley Makes Last Pitch for US Steel Sale

During a rally at Clairton Coke Works yesterday, Clairton Mayor Rich Lattanzi spoke in favor of the proposed $15 billion sale of U.S. Steel to Japan-based Nippon Steel — warning that “without it, we would be done.” President Biden, President-elect Trump, and the United Steelworkers Union all oppose the deal, but the supporters are calling on Gov. 🏘️ City Pushes Off Zoning Decisions

The Pittsburgh Planning Commission decided to postpone a vote on zoning reforms aimed at creating more affordable housing. Dozens of residents expressed concerns about plans to build denser housing near transit junctions in Polish Hill, Sheraden, and the South Hills, and commissioners agreed to table the entire zoning proposal until next year.
