😋 Pittsburgh’s best cooking classes

December 12, 2024 · — Francesca Dabecco

Good morning, neighbor.

One of my favorite parts of this job is curating local events. I can’t tell you how often I hear people complain that there’s nothing to do. My response: LIES!!!

No matter the day, there’s something for everyone: live music, crafty workshops, wine tastings, pop-up markets, comedy shows … and for all you nostalgic yinzers, there’s A Very Merry Rick Sebak Christmas Screening next week!

My goal is to help you explore Pittsburgh’s neighborhoods and be a tourist in your own backyard 💛

Making a packed events calendar is hard work. So we need your support as a City Cast Pittsburgh member to keep shining a light on all the fun. We’re trying to get 30 new members by tomorrow, and we’re halfway there!

🌟 BONUS! 🌟 Every Monday, members get a preview of events for the week ahead. Don’t you want to know all the best happenings around town?

And THIS WEEK ONLY, new members can snag an exclusive City Cast Pittsburgh tote bag! It has a zipper and everything 🛍️

The Pittsburgh Land Bank bought the Homewood house of legendary photographer Charles “Teenie” Harris with the goal of converting it into a museum and educational space. Harris took hundreds of photos of his house while documenting Black life in Pittsburgh between 1935 and 1975; designers plan to use the images to restore the home to what it looked like when he lived there. 🏥 New Pitt Center Targets Health Disparities

The University of Pittsburgh launched a $20 million global research center that’ll use AI tools to try to improve healthcare for women and girls. Researchers hope to create virtual representations of patients, called “digital twins,” that could help doctors treat diseases before they fully develop. [90.5 WESA]
