🏙️ Corey O’Connor To Run for Mayor

Allegheny County Controller Corey O’Connor plans to formally announce this week that he’s running for mayor of Pittsburgh. He'll face off against Mayor Ed Gainey in the Democratic primary. O’Connor served as a city council member for a decade before he was named controller in 2022. [TribLive]

⛲ Point State Park’s $3.4 Million Upgrade

The state is giving out millions to improve Pittsburgh’s iconic 36-acre park ahead of big events in 2026, like the NFL Draft and the nation’s 250th birthday. It’ll be closed to major events next year while contractors work on the fountain, landscaping, sidewalks, lighting, benches, and drinking fountains. [Union Progress]
