💸 Allegheny County Passes 2025 Budget

County Council voted 10-5 to approve a budget with a property tax increase of 1.7 mills — the first increase in more than a decade. Residents whose homes are assessed at $110,400 (the median value in the county) will pay about $13 more each month. The compromise tax hike is lower than County Executive Sara Innamorato’s initial proposal, but higher than council’s first counterproposal. [TribLive]

  • ➡️ County leaders say the budget doesn’t include any layoffs or cuts to critical services. It also preserves funding for emergency rental assistance and childcare programs. [Allegheny County]
