🗳️ Recount Underway for PA's US Senate Race
- AP called Pennsylvania’s U.S. Senate race for Republican Dave McCormick, who is ahead of incumbent Democrat Bob Casey by more than 17,000 votes. [TribLive]
- The close margin triggered a legally-required statewide recount. [Associated Press]
- Our local elections division begins its count at 8 a.m. Officials could finish as soon as today. Each county sets its own timeline. The state is scheduled to announce the result by or before Nov. 27. [Allegheny County]
🚫📩 Court Rules Flawed Mail Ballots Can’t Count
Pennsylvania’s state Supreme Court says counties can’t count mail-in ballots that don’t have a correct, handwritten date on the return envelope. This voids a Commonwealth Court ruling that found handwritten date requirements violated the state constitution. [TribLive]
