What's CITY Talking About?

🚑 Narcan Dispensers for Pgh Universities

Chatham and Pitt will soon get dispensers for the overdose prevention drug naloxone (aka Narcan), thanks to the Allegheny County Health Department. There’s an increased need on campuses; county data from 2023 shows 20% of people hospitalized for overdoses were under 25. The dispensers, or cabinets, will look a little different from the county’s first three Narcan vending machines, two of which have been broken or removed. [Next Generation Newsroom]
