What's CITY Talking About?

🚌 Proposed Changes to Bus Routes
About 60% of bus routes will change under Pittsburgh Regional Transit’s proposed redesign. The plan would add 19 new routes but reduce the total number from 95 to 77. It would also set up 20 transit hubs throughout Allegheny County, so fewer riders would have to pass through Downtown to get to their final destinations. This is the first redesign in more than 10 years. [Union Progress]

🔥 Pittsburgh Glass Center Completes Expansion
The center’s headquarters in Friendship got a $15 million refresh, complete with a new floor that increases the square footage by about 70%. The expansion makes room for more classes in the hot shop and cold shop, as well as not-yet-operational fabrication and neon and plasma labs. [90.5 WESA]

😥 Thai Place To Close in Wexford
After 35 years of feeding customers pad thai, pad see ew, and more, Surin and Santi Thamwiwat are closing Thai Place’s last location on Oct. 19. The couple, both 80, previously oversaw six locations and convinced several professional chefs to move from Thailand to Pittsburgh. [TribLive]
