40 North To Rebrand as ‘Alfabeto’
The restaurant inside Alphabet City — helmed by James Beard Award-nominee Bethany Zozula— abruptly closed July 28. It’s expected to rebrand and reopen later this month as a Northern Italian restaurant led by executive chef Maurizio Esposito, who is married to City of Asylum’s executive director. [NEXTpittsburgh]

Labor Board Seeks To End Post-Gazette Strike
An injunction filed by the National Labor Relations Board urges the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette to take back striking workers and bargain in good faith. Guild leaders say nearly 60 workers in four PG unions have been on strike since October 2022. [TribLive]

Three Rivers Regatta Has Gotta Return
The three-day festival, which started in 1978, might be cruising for a comeback if it can find a new title sponsor. The free event attracted hundreds of thousands of onlookers with everything from powerboat races to sand sculptures, but organizers went bankrupt before the pandemic. [City Paper]
