What's CITY Talking About?
Pittsburgh Getting Red Light Cameras?
City Councilor Erika Strassburger proposed legislation to install automated red light cameras. The goal is to completely eliminate fatal crashes in Pittsburgh, which tracked more than 750 crashes related to drivers running red lights between 2019 and 2023. Posted signs will warn drivers where the cameras are installed, and violators could get a $100 ticket in the mail. [KDKA]

PA Budget Falls Short on Child Care
Some advocates are disappointed that the new state budget didn’t do more to address underlying problems that are closing child care centers across the state. Child care workers in Pennsylvania make an average of $29,480 annually, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. [Spotlight PA]

Republican Rep. Mike Kelly, who attended the Trump rally held in his Butler County district, will head a bipartisan task force investigating security failures. One person died in the attack, and two others were injured. A report is due Dec. 13. [Associated Press]
