A New Grocery Store for Hazelwood?

Hazelwood has been considered a food desert since Dimperio's Market closed in 2009, but neighborhood groups are trying to build a new cooperative grocery store. It would be Pittsburgh’s first worker-owned food co-op, but funding for the project is still uncertain. [PublicSource]

PA Might Get More Fracking, Because Volcanoes

Not long ago, scientists made a discovery in Pennsylvania: so much lithium in wastewater created by fracking that it could meet an estimated 40% of the country’s needs. On the surface, it’s good news. Lithium is important in the shift to cleaner energy. But as reporter Kiley Bense with Inside Climate News explains, there are some big potential downsides to consider.
