🍸 Even more happy hours!?
July 18, 2024 · — Lane Fisher
Happy Thursday! Today we’ve got news on your favorite bar’s weekly happy hour allotment, firefly community science, and the best patios in the ‘Burgh!

What's CITY Talking About?

24 Very Happy PA Hours
A week after passing a state budget, Gov. Josh Shapiro signed HB829, expanding alcohol laws and increasing the weekly limit on happy hour promotions from 14 to 24 hours. Also in the bill: a spirit industry promotional board, lots of grants, and permanent outdoor seating permits. [Pittsburgh Business Times]
PA State Prisoners Without AC
More than one-third of Pennsylvania's 24 state prisons are without universal air conditioning during the extreme temperatures and humidity this summer. Officials say limited funds, old facilities, and prison regulations mean temperature reduction methods can be scarce. [Spotlight PA]
Candlelight Vigil For Rally Shooting Victim
Days after the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, the community is showing their support for Corey Comperatore, the Buffalo Township man who was killed at Saturday’s Butler County rally, with various memorial services including a candlelight vigil last night at Lernerville Speedway. While funeral services will be private, there will be public visitation from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at Laube Hall in Freeport. [TribLive]
