🇺🇸 Pittsburgh’s ties to the American flag
July 2, 2024 · — Mallory Falk
Good morning! City Cast Pittsburgh executive producer Mallory Falk here. I’ve been in a snacky mood lately, so I was thrilled to find a roundup of Pittsburgh’s most eclectic vending machines. Psst — if you’ve had your eye on those ketchup-flavored Lays from Canada, one spot in Squirrel Hill has you covered.

What's CITY Talking About?

Don’t Get Star Spangled Hammered
More than 5 million vehicles are expected to hit the Pennsylvania Turnpike for the holiday week. The good news is that road construction is being suspended to make extra room. The not-so-good news is that Pennsylvania State Patrol is deploying extra units for traffic enforcement. [WTAE]

Students Win Seats on the PPS Board
District leaders passed a resolution adding two non-voting student positions to the school board; both will be selected by a committee of high school principals and officially appointed by the superintendent. The students, from 11th and 12th grades, will serve as liaisons between the board and the student body, submit monthly reports, and will not be privy to executive sessions. [PublicSource]
