Airport Security Wait Times Heat Up

Pittsburgh International Airport officials are warning travelers to prepare for long security lines this summer, advising that travelers arrive up to three hours early, especially before early morning flights. TSA screened nearly 3 million people this past Sunday, breaking the daily record. [TribLIVE]

Organizers Disappear After Fake Concert Scam

Several concertgoers purchased what they believed to be tickets to a Biggie and 2Pac live orchestra concert at a former church over the weekend, only to be met with locked doors and a sign claiming the show was a scam. The company responsible for the farce has seemingly disappeared since. The state attorney general’s office is investigating. [WPXI]

  • It’s not the first time Pittsburghers have been bamboozled. Earlier this month, people showed up at the South Park Fairgrounds with pre-paid tickets for a fake hot air balloon festival. [WPXI]

Small Town Gets Big Money

Sharpsburg received a $25 million federal grant to continue the revitalization of a 52-acre industrial waste site along the Allegheny River. The Allegheny Shores project, which includes plans for affordable housing, broke ground in 2022 but was at a standstill due to lack of funds and access to the river. [Pittsburgh Union Progress]
