NFL Draft Coming to Pittsburgh
The NFL announced that Pittsburgh will host the 2026 Draft, the first time the ‘Burgh has hosted the event since 1947. It’s expected to be the largest visitor event in city history, featuring activities at Point State Park and Acrisure Stadium. [TribLIVE]

Trump’s Flip-Flops on Contraceptives
Former President Donald Trump told KDKA he plans to regulate contraceptives, despite Trump saying on his social media network that he “has never and will never” advocate for restrictions. He's since walked those comments back. Trump, who also repeated false information that he won the general election in 2020, joined Delano virtually from New York where he’s been in court facing criminal charges. [AP]
From Slag to Solar
A former slag heap near the edge of Frick Park will soon be converted into a 15-acre solar farm and expanded green space, thanks to $2 million in funding from the EPA. The Urban Redevelopment Authority will begin remediation next year, with solar panel construction to follow in 2026. [TribLIVE]
Don’t Bring Your Gun to the Airport
Allegheny County police arrested a man after the Transportation Security Administration found a 9mm firearm in his carry-on at Pittsburgh International Airport, marking the 15th loaded gun confiscated at the airport this year. The TSA intercepted a record 6,737 firearms last year, and 44 of those were at PIT. [TSA]
