What's CITY Talking About?
Pittsburgh Public To Sue Allegheny County
Local municipalities and school districts are worried about dropping revenues because of a falling property tax base. Just this year, owners of several Downtown commercial properties won property tax appeals that saved them a ton of money. That led to a vote this week by the Pittsburgh Public Schools Board to take legal action against Allegheny County in order to push a county-wide tax reassessment of properties.

Upcoming South Hills T Projects
Over the next five years, South Hills light rail riders will see service disruptions as Pittsburgh Regional Transit completes about $150 million of improvements. There will be a complete shutdown of parts of the T system starting next month as PRT begins to replace rails and tracks, rehabilitate the Panhandle Bridge across the Monongahela River, and upgrade stations at Station Square, Dormont Junction, and Belasco. - 🚎 Will these service disruptions affect you? Temporary bus routes will fill in gaps when the T service is down. Learn more about the projects at an online community meeting at 4 p.m. on April 2.
Activewear Made by a Duq Basketball Player
Duquesne University senior and athlete Kiandra Browne didn’t feel like basketball uniforms aligned with her Muslim faith, so she decided to make her own. Check out her activewear brand UpLift, designed specifically for folks who want to dress modestly but want something a little more feminine than oversized men’s jerseys. [Pittsburgh City Paper]
