What's CITY Talking About?

What Will It Take To Slow Down Drivers?
The city’s Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program wants to curb speeding in residential neighborhoods with different approaches, including speed humps, lane narrowing, and chicanes. Officials recently released data about vehicle volume and driving speeds before and after similar projects.
- BikePGH's Scott Bricker is a big supporter. Hear his hopes for traffic calming, plus one pretty big issue with the way official crash reports get generated. [🎧 City Cast Pittsburgh]
Allegheny County Avoids Measles But Not COVID
The state reported a measles outbreak in Pennsylvania in December, but luckily it hasn’t reached our region. Meanwhile, about one county resident dies every day from COVID, according to the county health department, and hundreds are hospitalized weekly. [90.5 WESA]
- The department has been without a leader for a year, and county executive Sara Innamorato said a search to fill the post has begun. [PublicSource]
Got Comcast? SportsNet Will Cost More
If you have Comcast, it will cost a little more to watch Pirates and Penguins games. SportsNet Pittsburgh is moving from the $70 “Popular TV” package to the $90 “Ultimate TV” package. [KDKA-TV]
