What's CITY Talking About?
Fireworks at Allegheny County Executive Debate
The first of two televised debates between Democrat Sara Innamorato and Republican Joe Rockey for county executive demonstrated two candidates with major differences and approaches to the position, from their stances on property tax assessments, the state of the county’s jail and long-defunct juvenile detention center, and crime concerns Downtown. The next debate will air on WTAE-TV this week. The election is Nov. 7. [90.5 WESA]

Whose Land is Pittsburgh On?
The Steel City loves to revel in its own history, but many of those stories are rooted in colonialism and the generations of immigration that followed. Why don’t we learn more about the Indigenous peoples who preceded them?
Ahead of Indigenous Peoples Day, we’re revisiting this conversation between City Cast’s Elizabeth Kauma and Miguel Sague from the Council of Three Rivers Indian American Center, about whose land we’re actually on.
Wishing you the very best Monday! Hasta mañana, friend 🤗
