What's CITY Talking About?
Guilt Phase of Synagogue Trial Wraps Up
Prosecution rested Wednesday in the guilt phase of the synagogue trial; the defense called no witnesses. In closing statements on Thursday, the prosecutor said that “this defendant’s hatred of Jews runs deep and is long-standing.” A verdict could come as soon as today. PA Town Wins Fracking Fight
For a decade, Pennsylvania General Energy tried to convert an old natural gas well in Grant Township to take wastewater from fracking operations. The tiny, rural town of 700 (80 miles east of the Burgh) took PG&E to court and won, signaling to Pittsburgh-area activists that fighting the oil and gas industry may not be as futile as some might think. Can Gay and Bisexual Men Give Blood In Pgh?
For the first time since 1985, sexually active gay and bisexual men won’t be automatically excluded from giving blood. But the timeline for those new rules is fuzzy, and while the restrictions have changed, they aren’t completely gone. Sean DeYoung, CEO of Allies for Health + Wellbeing, joined us to talk about the new FDA guidelines, plus his hopes for what could come next 🎧 [City Cast Pittsburgh]
