South Side To Get New Sports Court

The city approved plans for a new pickleball and basketball court on the East Lawn at SouthSide Works. The court will be connected to Hot Metal Bridge on the east and Three Rivers Heritage Trail on the west. [TribLIVE]

Pro-Union PA Amendment

Democrats in the Pennsylvania House narrowly passed a proposed workers’ rights amendment to the state constitution last week. The bill would add language to ensure that state workers have “the fundamental right to organize and bargain collectively." Constitutional amendments have to pass both chambers in two successive two-year sessions before going to voters for the final OK. [90.5 WESA]

Help Make A Queer, DIY Theater Space

Glitterbox Theater went on hiatus during the pandemic, but they’re back and hoping to create a new home in West Homestead. The group launched a fundraising campaign to turn a mechanic’s garage into a community-based performance space that will host plays, concerts, dance parties, drag shows, craft markets, and more.
